LMK Resources Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd Introduction:
Landmark Resources (LMKR), formerly known and inaugurated as Mathtech, was incorporated by Atif Rais Khan and Shabana Khan in 1994 with a view to offer comprehensive geosciences and information management solutions for the oil and gas industry. Starting with a small team of 10, the company soon reached its 100 employee mark in 1998, and maintained consistent year-on-year growth. LMKR made its name by successfully completing ambitious projects for governments and leading global oil and gas companies, attracting attention from businesses and governments from around the world. As the demand for its services expanded, so did the need for business expansion. In light of this, the company expanded its operations to Baku, Azerbaijan and Dubai, UAE in 1996. 


The year 2001 marked a turning point for LMKR – then known as Mathtech – when it attracted attention from Halliburton. The Houston-based petroleum services firm subsequently acquired majority interest in Mathtech, which gave birth to LMK Resources. This acquisition further strengthened the company’s presence and credibility in the upstream oil and gas services industry. It diversified in terms of core services, and launched a full-fledged Information Technology division, offering a broad spectrum of enterprise solutions to industries other than oil and gas. This division now operates as LMKT www.lmkt.com. In 2006, majority shares in LMK Resources were re-acquired from Halliburton. In 2007, Actis, a UK-based private equity investor in emerging markets, acquired a 49% interest in LMKR Holdings, which further bolstered its capital base. The firm also made several acquisitions over the last few years to expand its portfolio of expertise and promote innovative technology startups. Since its formation over sixteen years ago, LMKR has grown to employ a workforce of over 600 in six countries around the world. LMKR provides a wide range of petroleum technology offerings and consulting services to various clients all over the world. With extensive industry experience in the oil and gas sector, the company provides its services through three functional divisions, Information Management, Information Technology and Geoscience Services. Its business divisions provide a select set of core services and solutions designed to cater to a host of requirements for Exploration & Production (E&P) businesses and governments.
